Dulwich Hill Festival, German Beer Fest & The Big Design Market

17 September 2026

utfp logo

Hey neighbour,

Ashfield’s new off-leash dog park is getting the royal treatment this weekend with an official opening celebration that includes free coffee, cupcakes and ice cream for locals and their furry sidekicks.

Elsewhere, Carriageworks is hosting over 230 Aussie designers at the Big Design Market, Petersham Bowling Club is doing a full venue takeover with a massive electronic festival that’ll be running all day and into the night, and Akasha Brewing is serving up German beers and hot dogs for one day only.

There are plenty of festivals to keep the family busy, a plethora of gigs across Inner West venues, and some transport disruptions to be aware of. All of that and more below.

Enjoy,
Seb

Hit pause on Netflix this Saturday because Wentworth Point Town Square is putting on a massive Moon Festival celebration for its latest Eat Drink Nights instalment.

From 5 pm, the square will be filled with food stalls dishing out yum cha, Korean street food, African-fusion BBQ, Philly cheesesteaks, and loaded desserts.

Grab a bite, sit yourself down, and enjoy cultural performances under festive lighting as the sun goes down over the water.

THIS WEEKEND:

  • F3 Parramatta River (Balmain, Balmain West): Sydney Ferries remain in an unresolved pay dispute with the MUA, running to 6 October. Transdev cancelled all F3 weekend services on 12 to 13 September, and cancellations could recur this weekend at short notice.

If you’ve got this far, I appreciate you. Don’t forget to check directly with the venue before heading out, as events can and do change at the last minute.

Also, if you’re ever asked by an event organiser as to how you came to find out about their event, please tell them that you were sent by Under the Flight Path πŸ’š

See you next week,
