The short version: event details here come from organisers and public sources, and they change, so check with the organiser before you go. We don't run, host or sell tickets to anything listed, a listing isn't an endorsement, and anything paid for is labelled. Treat the calendar as a starting point, not a guarantee.
1. Event details come from others, and they change
Listings on Under the Flight Path are compiled from organisers' and venues' own websites, ticketing platforms, council calendars, social media, and events people submit to us. We re-check sources regularly, but events are rescheduled, sell out, change price, move venue or get cancelled, often at short notice and without the original listing being updated.
Check the details with the organiser before you go, especially the date, time, price, venue, and whether you need to book. The organiser's own page, linked from every listing, is the authority.
Times, prices and "free" labels are shown as the source stated them, and "Sold out" reflects the last time we checked.
2. We don't run, host or ticket the events
If you book, buy a ticket for, or attend an event you found here, that is between you and the organiser, venue or ticketing platform. We are not a party to it. We are not an agent, broker or reseller for either side, we don't handle payments for events, and we have no role in what is offered, charged, or delivered.
If something goes wrong, we cannot resolve it and we cannot compel anyone to refund you or respond to you. Your rights are against the organiser or ticket seller, and the Australian Consumer Law applies to what they sell you regardless of anything on this site. NSW Fair Trading can help with consumer disputes.
We do still want to know. If an event listed here wasn't as described, tell us.
3. A listing is not an endorsement
We list events because they're on and open to the public in or near the Inner West, not because we've attended, vetted or approved them. Being listed is not an endorsement by us of the event, the organiser, the venue, or anything said or sold there. Views expressed by organisers in their descriptions are theirs, not ours.
The absence of an event from the calendar means nothing. It almost always just means we haven't found it yet.
4. Safety, access and suitability are not checked
We don't inspect events or venues. Specifically, we do not check:
- whether an event is safe, or suitable for children, even where it's listed under Family
- accessibility, including wheelchair access, step-free entry, or accessible toilets
- age restrictions, licensing, permits or insurance
- whether a venue or organiser is properly run, or will go ahead as planned
Categories such as Family or Kids are a guide to who an event is aimed at, based on how it's described. Ask the organiser about anything that matters for you or the people you're bringing.
5. Picks, "For you" and sponsored content
Newsletter picks and highlighted events are our editorial choices of what looks good this week, made from the information available. They're not a promise that an event will be good, or that it suits you.
"For you" suggestions on the calendar are worked out automatically from the preferences you give us and, if you turn it on, what you open and save. They're a sorting aid, not advice.
We offer paid promotion. Anything that appears because someone paid us, including sponsored newsletter mentions and promoted listings, is clearly labelled where it appears. Unlabelled picks are never paid for.
6. Automated descriptions, and links off this site
Many event descriptions, categories and tags are drafted with the help of automated tools from the event's public information. Automated tools make mistakes, and public information goes out of date. Treat a listing as a summary, not a specification, and check anything that matters directly with the organiser.
Articles on our blog and in the newsletter are written for a general audience in the Inner West. Nothing here is legal, financial, health or safety advice, and none of it takes account of your situation.
Where we link to other websites (an organiser's own page, a ticketing platform, anything else), we do not control that content and are not responsible for it. A link is not an endorsement.
We try to keep this site accurate and available, but we cannot promise it is complete, current or error-free, or that it will always be up.
7. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss you suffer from relying on anything published here, including any event you attend or ticket you buy through a link on this site.
Nothing in this disclaimer excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. The full position, including how our liability is limited where it can be, is in our Terms of Use.
8. Something wrong on this site?
Tell us and we will look at it. If a listing is inaccurate, out of date, cancelled, or should not be here at all, or if you're an organiser or venue and you want something corrected or removed, email [email protected]. If you submitted the event, you can also update it yourself with your manage link.
